Yesterday and today (5/11-12) I finished the Anatomy page of our website. It explains ACL surgery more in depth about the steps and different approaches. For instance, the different types of graft used in surgery. Here are a few pictures i included on the anatomy page.
After reviewing my notes about the nutritional benefits of certain food groups, I composed a rough draft of an infographic. I have attached photos of my notes from my fellows notebook. I made the infographic poster on Canva and uploaded pictures onto the nutrition page.
Had a quick fellows meeting today after school! We talked about getting ready for our upcoming school presentation on 2/8/21 and finalizing our spring goals! After the meeting we had a quick FaceTime session to talk about our goals and tasks we plan to tackle in the very near future. I have updated our milestone page with a google doc link to our spring goals.
Emma, Regan, and I plan to meet tomorrow, 2/3/21, to start checking off items on our to-do list! Stay tuned big things happening. (enjoy the unfiltered photo of us on our facetime call) Brainstormed questions to ask athletes about their ACL journey. I made a total of 10 questions that all require a long response. The goal is to send the google form I made to a few female athletes and transfer their responses to the Athlete story page. The next step is to compile a list of athletes we know that have suffered from sports induced injury.
Completed another hour of research for the diet plan! You can find the information on the Nutrition page where I will be uploading all information I find. A little sneak peak!

Today, July 3, we had a meeting with our other mentor Dr. Martin.
We discussed our summer goals/plans and a way to hold ourselves accountable for our research. We plan on posting 2 blogs per month at minimum and too email our mentors every 2 or 3 weeks to show our progress. For the month of July we will do the majority of our research & contact professional help to check our progress. For my part of the project I will explain the biology aspect of the importance of nutrition. What is healthy and why? Your questions will be answered since it has come to my attention that the general public is not well informed about the nutritional aspect of everyday meals. To dive deeper into the matter I will focus on nutrition for recovery athletes and athletes in general. Welcome,
From our leadership lab in June we worked on our timeline & summer goals. This summer the majority of my work will be research and contacting professional mentors before I can start the meal plan. With each new important piece of my research you can find the information on the blog pages. There will be posts regarding the importance of nutrition for an injury, which foods promote healing, and which foods contribute to muscle growth among other topics. Please stay tuned for future posts! Thanks :) |
